SPEEDSTER : A "Crock of..."

    Author: Skeezmachine
Subject: A "Crock of..."
Posted: 15 Jun 2010 at 12:28pm

I have to agree that for what they are, these scoots are a bit overpriced. Or a lot overpriced actually. The Speedster is nothing more than a Springer Classic with a Softail Deluxe seat, older style Heritage Springer turn signals and horn, a Crossbones (the bike that I currently own) Cat Eye Console and half moon floorboards and what amounts to a Screamin' Eagle 110 and Vance & Hines Short Shots. In today's market you can get all that and all the powder coating for around $25k. Don't get me wrong; I like the way the bike looks but that is because I love Harley Davidson Springers and not because this is something so new and original.

And to be honest, the "Dirico" logo on the tank is UGLY! That alone would keep me from buying one. If the name "Dirico" needs to go on these H-D bikes then drop the universal logo idea and design logos that fit the particular style of each model. For example; the Flyer could have something nostalgic in style while the Pro-Street has something a little more wild and contemporary.

Sorry Dirico! I don't mean to hate on you guys and I have nothing but love for Steven Tyler. I hope that you guys have success and most of all FUN with your venture! However, I think there will be too many people who will be turned off by what seems to be stock H-D bikes with unique paint jobs for the same price that a fabricated one-off scoot would go for. I really like the look of the bikes but if I can drop about $5k and take my stock H-D Crossbones and make it look one of yours then I hardly see why most people wouldn't go that same route with their Springers.

Best of luck!

Skeez

Forum Suggestions : Dirico Motorcycles and Aerosmith Lottery

    Author: svt61
Subject: Dirico Motorcycles and Aerosmith Lottery
Posted: 19 Feb 2010 at 12:17pm

Dirico Motorcycles and Aerosmith Hit the Lottery
Bryan Harley
Cruiser Editor

New Hampshire-based Dirico Motorcycles has hit the lottery. No, they didn’t pick the six magical digits to riches, but Dirico has been contracted by GTECH to build three of its Pro-Street motorcycles with an Aerosmith “Dream On” theme for the Ohio Lottery who has an Aerosmith promotion in the works. The motorcycles will be decked out with the Aerosmith logo and each of the band’s signatures to add to its collectible motorcycle status.

Dirico’s Pro-Street muscle cruiser is powered by a Screamin’ Eagle 103 cubic-inch Twin Cam B engine mated to a Baker RSD 6-speed transmission. The frame is a custom design from the mind of Dirico’s co-owner and chief engineer, Mark Dirico and is hand-built for them by Rowe Machine. A 21-inch tall custom billet wheel leads the way while a 240mm Metzeler keeps the rubber side down on the rear.

Getting Aerosmith onboard for the promotion was easy. Dirico Motorcycles happens to be partly owned by none other than Steven Tyler, the Aerosmith frontman himself. Tyler started up the venture a couple of years ago along with longtime friends Dirico and Stephen Talarico.

GTECH is an accomplished international gaming and technology services company. It has incorporated the bikes of Dirico Motorcycles, USA in other lottery promotions it created and managed for state lotteries. New Hampshire used two Dirico Motorcycles as prizes in an Aerosmith “Dream On” instant lottery game it launched back in September, 2009. The state of Colorado is also rolling-out their own “Dream On” lottery promotion.
____________________________________________________

How cool is this ?
And I just want to add...
We have won $140.00 this year playing the Aerosmith Scratch Off Lottery Tickets and It has been so much fun.

Still trying to win a Dirico Bike !!!
Good Luck EVERYONE !!!

STURGIS : Ride That Rocks

    Author: svt61
Subject: Ride That Rocks
Posted: 26 Jan 2010 at 3:58pm

Join us for the Ride that Rocks!

The Legends Ride is rolling out the plans for the 3rd Annual Charity “Ride That Rocks” on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010. The 2009 ride raised more than $60,000 dollars for the Black Hills Children’s Home Society and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. In 2009, Riders joined up with celebrities from the soon to be released ‘Easy Rider 2: The Ride Back’, cigar aficionados from across the world and a whole lot of rockers and bike builders. The 2010 ride has a lot in store as well!

The escorted ride through the Black Hills will again be one of the highlights as 350 bikes parade from Historic Deadwood to the Legendary Sturgis Buffalo Chip. These spots fill quickly so we suggest that if you want in on the kick-off party on Deadwoods’ Mainstreet while hanging out with the world’s best bike builders, cigar afficianados and roll into the Legendary Buffalo Chip for a star studded reception and ZZ TOP concert you should mark February 2nd, now!

This year’s ride will support the causes of preserving the history of motorcycling and encourage a bright start to the future. Plan to attend Sturgis’s Premier Charity Ride on Monday August 9th, 2010, and make your rally experience one of the best! Didn’t get to catch a glimpse of Steven Tyler on his bike during the 09 Legends Ride? We’ve got the album online, now! www.legendsride.com
_______________________________________________________________________

Keeping my fingers crossed that Steven and Dirico Bikes will be there this year to make it 3 Wonderful Years in a row
